Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blog.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!    I link up my post to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Reader.

Hello!  How is everyone?  This week I had some good times with anxiety/depression and some bad times.  I have been praying hard about it. Keeping myself busy is the key, for some reason I can't seem to take naps.  I lay there and just my mind keeps thinking about anxiety and then I just have to get up.  I can't wait to take naps again.  Night time sleep is going ok .. mainly because I have some sleeping pills to help with that.  I am so lucky to have my husband here to help with the panic attacks.  I feel so bad for those who have to deal with mental illness alone.

I finished a book!!  I finally finished Eragon.  It took me a while but it felt good to not only finish it but get up a review about it. I am addicted to the show Property Brothers.  These guys are fun to watch and have a great personality.  Nov 29th they are going to have a new show on about them remodeling the house they live it.  How fun that these brothers are so close and even live together.

Here are some posts I loved this week:

If you are on facebook there is a Bookish Ball coming up.  Looks kind of fun.
There's a Harry Potter read along coming.
Scifi Month Bingo card.  These are always so fun... though I don't read fast enough to do them.
Do you know very much about epilepsy?  She is too Fond of Books talks about it.  I am glad... more of us should talk about our crutches in life so others can either learn from them or maybe even relate to them.

My internet has been down since Friday.  That has been such a bummer.  But it's back so that is good. FINALLY!  What's going on with you???

  1. I could never do naps! They just make me tireder than ever. I can imagine if you are used to them that it's hard to manage without them. But lying in bed, worrying about things is something I hate, I always get up too even if it's the middle of the night. I'm a bad sleeper but on the plus side, I often get some extra reading time in during my insomniac nights.

  2. I can't imagine always being an insomniac. I get so stressed if I don't get sleep. It can be ruff the next day. I have finally been sleeping in a little later and that feels good. I just want to stay in bed though so I force myself to get up. The one thing about taking a sleep aid is that it makes me very groggy in the morning.

  3. That SciFi Bingo card is so cool... I saw some ideas on the I want to read about. Must have more scifi books... :) I'm doing SciFi month but had not see that. Also nice shout out to Whitney's blog- I saw her post too it's nice for it to get some recognition.

Propery Brothers looks like a show we'd watch if we sitting around flipping channels- have not seen it but we want someone to come remodel our place! LOL. Have a great week.

  4. I love naps. Naps are my favorite. Actually sleeping is amazing! :) I think I'm still recovering from ICON 39 last weekend. I'm looking forward to a slower week this week.

  5. I can't take naps either. I end up watching tv and then I'll fall asleep, but I can't just lie down and try to take a nap. Property Brothers is a great show and they really work great together. I would love to see how they live together. They seem really calm and I can't imagine them yelling at each other like siblings usually do lol. Yeah to finish a book and to keeping yourself busy! I hope you have a good week =)

  7. Property Brothers is soooo good. Seriously I could watch it for hours and hours. I tape it and then when there is nothing on TV that is what I watch. So neat to see transformations.

  8. I am so excited to see the new Property Brothers show! I think it's going to be good. I wish I was that close to my sister. It would be really great. I think it's neat when families live together even when grown.

  9. I wish we had nap rooms at work. I would be so much more productive if I could take a nap in the middle of the day.

  10. I nap better than I sleep at night. From 1-5 pm I can drop of to sleep in seconds. At night I sometimes give up and go back downstairs for an hour.

  11. Great week you had! I know what it's like to have trouble sleeping. I usually stay up until 8 in the morning whenever I have trouble sleeping.

  12. I love taking naps - sometimes on the weekends I'll wake up early so I don't have enough sleep and I'll need to take a nap. It makes it easier for me. :) Property Brothers sounds like a fun show - house remodeling shows are always interesting. They give me ideas for if/when I will ever get a chance to remodel my house!

I'm glad your internet is back up! Thanks for the great collection of links this week!

    MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  15. It is crazy how many people don't really sleep at night. I have had some trouble sleeping in. I did read though if you can't sleep at night you shouldn't just lay there.... you are supposed to get up.

  16. WHOA 8 AM! That is why I have sleeping pills on hand. I have taken one at 4 am so I can finish off the night sleeping.

  17. Naps are amazing. Just a little break in the middle of the day. Property Brothers is good. If you haven't ever watched the show you should for sure check it out. Just fun and relaxing to watch.

  18. That's the thing about mental illness. Good days/bad days. I have been keeping the panic attacks at bay. So that's been good. Feeling calmer. Bookish Ball should be fun and what a great way to spend my evening. I've been wanting to ask, do you volunteer for the USO?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I do volunteer at our USO branch at our airport :) Our center is open 24/7 and I do the overnight shift when I can so I go in around 11pm and leave the next day at around 7am.

  20. Go you..you finished it. Hopefully your next read is quicker. Ooo I love DIY and Home Improvement type shows. I can watch and read at the same time! Naps are my friend. I nap every single day for at least 30-45 mins. The trick is to drink a cup of coffee and than nap. You awake alert and fresh. Since I tend to only get 5-6 hrs of sleep a night (late night reader) it totally works for me

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh wow... drinking coffee before a nap?? You are a champ. I have avoided caffeine since my anxiety started back up real bad. I always hear that recommendation that caffeine makes anxiety work. So I avoid it completely. I do drink ensure to help me keep weight on also since when I am anxious/depressed I don't have an appetite.

  22. I'm glad that you had some good moments this past week. Here is hoping that the good moments begin to happen more than the bad. For me it is nice to know I'm not alone with anxiety.

On the topic of naps, I love them and can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. It really makes my wife mad when she is up at night not able to sleep. Looking forward to your Big Hero 6 review. I will have my own this week as well.

  23. Nope, can't nap either. I usually am struggling with insomnia, actually! I can't seem to stop thinking. About everything! It's not necessarily "worrying" (although I do most of that too -_-) but my brain is just like PIZZAH!! all the time. It exhausts me. *sigh* But no one should ever have to go through panic attacks alone. I hear ya, I do. I hate panic attacks.

  24. I don't know what it is about damn naps lately. LOL! I almost took one today.. almost. As I get older it's surprising how many people have sleep issues. Sleep is so important! The next movie I will see after Big Hero 6 is Mockingjay. Looking forward to that one too.

  25. Panic attacks are CRAP. I just don't get them... but it's in my genes and isn't going anywhere. I'll be dealing with them for the rest of my life. Luckily I have periods of time where I don't get any at all. Those are the best times!! Getting brains to shut down at night can be hard work!

  26. I can't nap either! I too suffer from anxieties...I know how hard it is! I love watching all the reality hgtv shows as well!

  27. When I was in college my sleep schedule was very crazy, I almost could never actually sleep at night it was a pain. Anxiety is the worst when in comes to sleeping, it is so hard to get yourself to actually relax, I have this problem a lot - deep breathing helps a little

  28. I am obsessed with HGTV! I am watching it right now. LOL! House Hunters is another show I just love.

  29. I have gone the route of sleeping pills. Though I have noticed that the new pill I am on this week doesn't actually put me to sleep. Though I read that a lot of people who have insomnia use it. It doesn't put me to sleep but it is hard as hell to get up in the morning on it. Once I get up I feel better. But until then... forget about it. I could sleep all day!
