Sunday Post

Let's chat about what's going on this week... on my blogs.. on other blogs... on the internet... and just everywhere!  Despite not reading this week.. the blog has been busy!  I link up my post to Sunday Post,  and Stacking the Shelves.

This week on the blog:

I participate in Bout of Books 9.0 which is finishing up this weekend. I thought it was a lot of fun!  Though this time I didn't feel like there was as much blog hopping like the last few times.  So I didn't meet a lot of new bloggers.  Could it be because like 700 people signed up this time!  Who knew there were that many book bloggers!
I talk about the things I do when I am not reading in Life of a Blogger.
Comic Adventures Issue #2 has been published!
Finally.. an new Project Disney this week!  I get to talk about the movie The Emperor's New Groove and compare it to the original story Emperor's New Clothes
I am going to join the 2014 Graphic Novel challenge I am excited about this... I have to pick a level but... I think I have to start at the first level?  So.. well then I pick that level though I know I'll smoke right through to the top level.
Modern Age: read and review 12 books during the year (that's only 1 book a month)

Bronze Age: read and review 24 books during the year (Can you handle 2 books a month.)

Silver Age: read and review 52 books during the year (Are you up to a book a week!)

What I found on the blogospere:

Joy's Book Blog's New Years Resolution Reading is pretty clever.  She comes up with several New Years Resolutions (getting fit, being a better photographer, being a better reader) and finds books to help with these resolutions!
Book Riot tells us just how cool the speed readers are (there is even a test to see just how fast you are) .
Great Imaginations talks about how annoying SPOILERS are and I totally agree.
My Stephen King book club is reading Black House the sequel to the Talisman if you want to join in the discussions.
My Young Adult Book Club is reading Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler if that is more up your alley join us!
Say it with books talks about We Readers have Rights! Love this post and how they set it up!

Books Books Books
I am getting soo behind on the graphic novels that are coming into the library.  I really need to push those out! I received Batman Arkham Origins from the library this week so I am excited to get that started.  The book Of Dice and Men the story of Dungeons and Dragons and those who play it came in and I can't wait to get started.   I do play the game and would like to see how it originated.

Movies!
I checked out from the library Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset.(2004) I have been wanting to see these movies every since I'd heard of Before Midnight (2013).  These movies are love stories.  I love that the same actors returned for each film. I am fascinated that we actually see the actors age and their love story change.  I am waiting to get Before Midnight from the library.

Internet
So I have been watching a lot of the movie Warm Bodies (zombie movie based off book of the same name in case you didn't know).  There is a scene where two girls put make up on the Zombie and make him look more human... a song during that scene I just love.  So I looked it up!  It's by a group M83 and called Midnight City, the video for it turned out to be pretty cool.  In fact, it's a story ARC of three music video but I'll just post the first one here.

What about your Sunday? How is it going?

  1. I've been been on the fence about this trio of movies. I usually don't watch romance films but I love the idea that they keep the same actors as the movies progress. Have fun watching them and have a great week!

    1. The only problem I have with the movie is that they end up in the air. I suppose it's supposed to be up to the viewer as to what happens to this couple but that's crazy sometimes. Otherwise they are pretty good movies.

  4. I know I personally haven't been doing much blog hopping this time... I have been visiting random blogs every day, but they aren't ones I relate to enough to leave a comment, and I don't have time to find the ones I do relate to.

    1. Yeah... this time around there were just soooo many blogs participating. I usually have way more comments then I had this time. I even visited a ton of bloggers who didn't stop by back (not that they had to but that's kind of the point to me that makes bout of books so fun). I agree though about visiting blogs that don't have a lot in common with you. The ones I have a hard time commenting on are the ones that have cover reveal/blog blitz one after another and I never know what to say to those. "this book looks like it will be good?" just seems to generic.

  7. I'm not the biggest graphic novel reader but I do get its lure. I hope you find the time to catch up soon!

    1. Thanks... getting caught up isn't always easy. When it gets to the last minute (meaning the book is due back to the library) all of a sudden wham! I finish. I actually really like to have the library time limits.

  8. I've never heard of those movies before, but I like how you said the same actors came back to do all three of them. I think I will have to track them down to watch.

Additionally, there is a Graphic Novel Challenge?! I must join! Thank you!

    1. I know! I just discovered this Challenge and think I am going to get all the way to the last level. The movies are neat... romance movies.. which aren't really my thing but they are done really well. I think it's neat to see the actors actually age and become more mature in their lives.

  9. Enjoy the Before movies! I watched the first one years ago.
